  3. The program  »StarAm Plan« version 2.04 needs to start at least:
  4. Amiga with AmigaOS 3.0 (version 39), 850KB FREE RAM, 1 floppy drive
  5.  
  6. I  don't  believe, that you can really work with  this  configuration.  So  I
  7. recommend:
  8. Amiga  with 68020 CPU, 68881 FPU, 2MB FAST RAM, 3MB free space  on  harddisk,
  9. AA-Chipset or graphics accelerator, AmigaOS 3.0
  10.  
  11. »StarAm  Plan« has been developed on an Amiga 4000/040  with  Cybervision  64
  12. and AmigaOS 3.0.

  14. »StarAm Plan« is shareware. Read the license carefully!

  21. 1. The program and all files belonged to it may freely duplicated.
  22. 2. Neither   the  program  nor  the  manual,  the  files   »StarAm Plan.dvi«,
  23.    »StarAm_Plan.cd« or »Copyright.info« may be changed,  translated or  adapt
  24.    to other hardware. Other files may changed for your own private use.
  25. 3. Translating of the files »StarAm_PlanGB.ct« and 
  26.    »Catalogs/English/StarAm_Plan.catalog«  and  spreading of  the  translated
  27.    files are desired as long as the translated files are placed in the public
  28.    domain and I get a copy.
  29. 4. Distributing  the program is allowed as long as all files belonged  to  it
  30.    are  unchanged in one directory together and the distribution is  free  of
  31.    charge. You may archieve the files with an archiever like »lha« or  »zoo«,
  32.    but all files must be in the same archieve!
  33. 5. Item  4. is void, if a Disk of a PD series is distributed, I released  the
  34.    program on this series and the disk is unchanged.
  35. 6. Saling,  distributing  or letting of this  program is  illegal  without  a
  36.    specific permission by me, when it is not allowed by this license (item 4+
  37.    5).
  38.    To  place  this program on another series or a »special disk«  without  my
  39.    written and signed permission is herewith explicit forbidden!
  40. 7. The  manual  and the file »StarAm Plan.dvi« may only be  distributed  like
  41.    permitted by item 4 and 5. The manual or parts of the manual and the  file
  42.    »StarAm Plan.dvi« mustn't be distributed or sold seperate or printed.
  43. 8. When  you  use  this program you must pay DM 30 (german marks) or  US$  30
  44.    (sorry!) to me.
  45. 9. The  program  is presented to the users as it is, without any warranty  of
  46.    any kind, be it expressed or implicit. Anyone using this program agrees to
  47.    incur  the risk of using it for himself. In no way can the author be  made
  48.    responsible  for  any damage directly or indirectly caused by the  use  or
  49.    misuse of the program.
  50. 10.Someone  who contravene this license has no of the in this  license  given
  51.    rights.

  53. SUPPORT
  54. 1. Everybody  who has paid the share will be registered as  user.  Registered
  55.    users who fulfill the conditions described at the 2nd item gets up to  two
  56.    free »small« updates automatically.
  57.    A user who has got two updates must send me a sufficient stamped  envelope
  58.    for each additional update (or the money, when you don't have stamps  from
  59.    the Deutsche Post AG!).
  60.    »Small« updates, are updates, without increased share. With »big«  updates
  61.    the share is increased.
  62.    A  registered  user who fulfill the conditions described at the  2nd  item
  63.    will  be  informed  about the new version, as long as he  hasn't  got  two
  64.    updates.  He'll get the update after I've got the difference  between  the
  65.    new and old share.
  66.    After  two updates the user must send me a sufficient stamped  envelope or
  67.    postcard  for each informing about a new »big« update  (or the money, when
  68.    you don't have stamps from the Deutsche Post AG!).
  69.    Bug  removing  updates  to identify by the character  behind  the  version
  70.    number are only sent if you explicit request them or in the case of item 4.
  71. 2. Only registered user who lives in Germany or another country for which the
  72.    Deutsche  Post AG wants to have the same postage as for letters which  are
  73.    sent  within  Germany gets update delivery and  informations  about  »big«
  74.    updates.
  75.    If  this  conditions  aren't fulfilled, the user must  send  me  sufficent
  76.    postage (in DM (german marks) or stamps of the Deutsche Post AG) for  each
  77.    update or information about a »big« update.
  78. 3. I'm very interested in suggestions. They should be so detailed as possible
  79.    because I want to understand correct what you want. I'll try to take  into
  80.    account your wishes.
  81. 4. I'm  very interested in bug reports, too. They should describe the way  to
  82.    produce the error exactly, so that I'm be able to reproduce it.
  83.    If you are registered user, fulfill the conditions described under 2.  and
  84.    I  could  remove the bug because of your bug report then  you'll  get  the
  85.    version without the bug free of charge.

  87. To register you can use the file »Register« (print out, fill out and send  to
  88. me  with  DM 30). You haven't to use this form because I like  also  formless
  89. registrations.  If you don't want the GERMAN update disks then you MUST  tell
  90. me at least one available language which you prefer. You also should tell  me
  91. your own language if I get a catalog file of your language!
  92. I  accept  suggestions and bug reports from not registered users.  But  don't
  93. expect anything by me!

  95. This is the second localized version of »StarAm Plan«.At the moment there are
  96. the languages german (build in language) and english (catalog file)available.
  97. If your language is not available und you don't want that »StarAm Plan«  uses
  98. german  you must select the (available) language »StarAm Plan« shall  use  in
  99. the preferences editor »Locale« of the workbench after your own language.
  100. Example:  Your  language is french and you want that »StarAm Plan«  uses  the
  101. english  catalog. In the listview »preferred languages« you must  have  first
  102. »Français«  and  second »English«. All programs with a  french  catalog  then
  103. will use french, all other english.
  104. If  you want to translate »StarAm_Plan.catalog« into another  language,  feel
  105. free to do so, as long as you place your translated »StarAm_Plan.catalog«  in
  106. the  »Public Domain«  and send a copy to me. You can  use  »StarAm_PlanGB.ct«
  107. when you  don't understand the original german texts in »StarAm_Plan.cd«.
  108. Don't  ignore the maximum lengths in »StarAm_Plan.cd«! Notice the  spaces  at
  109. the end of lines (Disable an option in your editor which kills spaces at  the
  110. end of lines!)!
  111. I know that my english translation is bad. So if you find any funny or simple
  112. wrong  translations in »StarAm_PlanGB.ct« respectively  »StarAm_Plan.catalog«
  113. please correct them and send the corrected file to me. Thank you.

  115. »StarAm  Plan« uses also the locale.library for the command  »Edit/Sort«  and
  116. the  output  of Dates (Worksheet/Print, cell format). The date  formating  of
  117. »StarAm  Plan« is more complex than the »locale.library« allows.  So  »StarAm
  118. Plan« must interpret the two date strings of the locale.library. It could  be
  119. that this interpretation don't give the correct result.»StarAm Plan« uses the
  120. short  string if you select month as number else it uses the long string.  If
  121. both strings are the same, the short string contains the name (or name abbr.)
  122. or the long string contains the number of the month the algorithm won't work.
  123. The  strings  mustn't contain the commands »%D«, »%r«, »%R«, »%T«,  »%x«  and
  124. »%X«,  too. Relpace them by »%m/%d/%y«, »%I:%M:%S %p«,  »%H:%M«,  »%H:%M:%S«,
  125. »%m/%d/%y«, »%H:%M:%S«. You'll find the strings in
  126. »LOCALE:countrys/yourCountry.country«.
  127. When you use dates before 01-Jan-78, »StarAm Plan« must use its own algorithm
  128. because  locale.library doesn't handle these dates. You get then german  date
  129. format!
  130.  
  131. At the moment the manual is in german only. It is very much work to translate
  132. the manual, so if only few register I won't translate the manual. It  depence
  133. on you!
  134. If YOU want to translate the manual into english or another european language
  135. here are my conditions:
  136. - You  mustn't translate the manual without my written and signed  permission
  137.   (email is not enough, because it is unsafe!).
  138. - The translated manual is Copyright © by Thorsten Passow (me)
  139. - I am the only one you give a copy of the translated manual to
  140. - You may insert a short text into the manual like:
  141.   Translated into english by ...
  142. - If  I  get the translated manual until a date arranged before,  you  become
  143.   registered user without paying the share.

  145. Until now, only germans become registered users.Don't expect any improvements
  146. of the localisation or a translated manual, if you don't register!
  147.  
  148. You  will find additional information about »StarAm Plan«  in  »Bitte Lesen«,
  149. »Convert.dok« and »StarAm Plan.guide« (all german only).

  151. Known bugs:
  152.  
  153. - When »Refresh« in the Requester to set the worksheet screen is not  checked
  154.   then  the  contents of the worksheet window will be  damaged  when  another
  155.   window  is  partly  in front of the window and  you  scroll  the  worksheet
  156.   (SimpleRefresh+ClipBlit  problem).  I won't remove this  bug,  because  the
  157.   scrolling  would slow down. If there is ever the need to scroll  the  sheet
  158.   while  another window is in front then you must use »Ctrl-r«. If  you  have
  159.   enough memory I recommend to check »Refresh«.
  160. - The connect lines in bar charts with 3D effect are damaged.
  161. - On Cybervision screens saving the chart as IFF ILBM and printing out the 
  162.   chart  don't work. Use for these commands an ECS/AGA screen (in the  needed
  163.   size)!

  165. Future:
  166.  
  167.  - Activate the less memory needs of worksheets, after finding the bug.
  168.  - localized  gadget  shortcuts (if some non germans register (I mean YOU!),
  169.    few little things, intern improvements
  170.  - Using "Formelsatz" (I couldn't find the translation) in strings of the
  171.    charts and perhaps the sheet, too.
  172.  - Better support of different resolution at charts (autom. adjust of the
  173.    sizes of fonts, symbols, line lengths, ...)
  174.  - perhaps print out sheet as graphics
  175.  - if possible im-/export of Excel files
  176.  - ARexx Port
  177.  - further not known improvements
